The tool kit, jack, and spare wheel with tire are complete and in very clean condition. This engine was 3,112 of 3,550 made for the model year and was manufactured between September 1964 and June 1965. Engine stamping 903112 indicates that the aluminum crankcase came from a 1965 911 coupe. The 911's original horn grills have been well preserved and stored along with original Solex carburetors. Designation: 911/01 1991 cc flat six 130hp 9:1 Compression Ratio. During previous ownership cloth seat centers had been installed after removing the original leather covers which were stored and currently remain with the car. Certificates from Automotoclub Storico Italiano have been well preserved and remain with the car as well. The front fenders, hood, rear decklid, and rear fenders were replaced with lightweight fiberglass panels (the remainder of the car is steel). After a factory team raced a slightly modified 911 at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1965, only individuals raced the 911 at GT. This would be an enormous task, because progress of the 911 in motorsport came rather slow at first.

The flat-six engine developed by Porsche for the 911 featured a number of advancements compared to the outgoing 356 four-cylinder, including overhead camshafts and dry-sump lubrication. This Porsche flat-six is said to turn over by hand and is now offered on a bill of sale in Morgan Hill, California. It was acquired out of a barn in Gilroy, California earlier this year by the seller, who has since performed some disassembly and cleaning. As an early example, the engine features center-lube camshafts and six-bolt valve covers. This 2.0L flat-six (*901745*) was originally produced for a 1965 Porsche 911 and is said to have been removed from a 1968 911 in 1992 after a crash.
